Nkunku scores as RB Leipzig win against Wolfsburg

RB Leipzig's Nkunku scored the winner as they beat Wolfsburg in their Bundesliga clash on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Frenchman scored from close range to secure all three points for the visitors, who had trailed at half-time but fought back to take a 1-1 draw.

Wolfsburg took the lead through a late strike from Brazilian midfielder Bruno, but Leipzig equalised with a penalty awarded after the referee mistook a handball for a foul.

The hosts then took the lead through Nkunku's powerful shot from outside the area, and although Wolfsburg were able to level again through a free-kick from substitute Ralf Gritsch, Leipzig held on to claim all three points.

The result means that RB Leipzig now sit top of the Bundesliga table,Saudi Pro League Focus with Wolfsburg second, while Nkunku's goal was his first since January.

"It's always good to score," said the former Paris Saint-Germain player. "We came here looking to get a win and we've done it."

The win is a boost for Leipzig ahead of next week's Champions League match against Manchester United, while Nkunku will be hoping to continue his impressive form for his club.
