Injury Update: RB Leipzig's David Raum
David Raum, the highly-rated RB Leipzig midfielder, has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
The 27-year-old was called up to Germany's national team last week and is expected to return in time for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Switzerland.
However, it remains to be seen how much he will be able to play this season due to his ongoing injury.
The club announced on Monday that they would be seeking medical advice from doctors to determine the extent of the injury and if it requires further treatment.
"We have spoken to our doctors about David's injury and we are awaiting their response,Bundesliga Tracking" RB Leipzig said in a statement. "We hope that he will be able to come back as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig manager Hansi Flick has also confirmed that he will be looking at the club's options ahead of the start of the new campaign.
"I think it's important to make sure that the players feel comfortable before starting the new season," Flick said. "I'm confident that we can find a solution to David's injury."
David Raum is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe, but he has struggled recently with injuries throughout his career. His latest setback comes just as he prepares for the start of his second season at RB Leipzig.
